I\u2019ve bought it for 164 PLN (\u2248 51 USD \u2248 40 EUR). It features 4 axes (X, Y, rudder, throttle slider), 16 buttons (4 on stick and 8 on each side of the base) and a POV switch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">At first glance the big base stands out. It keeps the joy in one place, although with sharp movements I still manage to lift it. Placing second hand on the base (buttons) to hold it helps. I think there should be some kind of absorber for this.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Stick is a bit too big for my hand \u2013 if I put it on the hand rest then it\u2019s harder to access POV hat.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Joystick is ambidextrous. However, changing for the second hand requires screwing things so it\u2019s not suitable if you\u2019ve got a left-handed sibling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_ambidextrous.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-384\" title=\"T16000M ambidextrous\" alt=\"manual\" src=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_ambidextrous-300x204.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"163\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_ambidextrous-300x204.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_ambidextrous.jpg 882w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I like how the buttons are placed &#8211; in two rows. That way you can use them as a direction pad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Lack of button labels is a big problem. However, some games index buttons from zero and others from one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I&#8217;ve done a\u00a0 similar thing with the slider. The rest is on the other side of the base and to use them you have to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>take hand off the stick which can be dangerous in the middle of a fire fight<\/li>\n<li>or transfer second hand (cross arms) which isn&#8217;t very comfortable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s a compromise in making a joystick for left and right-handed people.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dirt easily collects at the bottom of the stick.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_dirt.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-370\" title=\"T16000M pivot dirt\" alt=\"dust\" src=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_dirt-300x272.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"218\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_dirt-300x272.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_dirt.jpg 882w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a reason why other joysticks have rubber covers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The green part is a backlight which is lit whenever you move a stick (even very slightly). Shame that there&#8217;s no option to disable this feature because the bright light becomes irritable when you&#8217;re playing in a dark room. If you turn off computer while it&#8217;s on &#8211; it will stay enabled.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"mwm-aal-item\" name=\"sensitivity\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Sensitivity<\/h2>\n<p>Main selling point is that X and Y axes have high resolution &#8211; around 16000 possible values for each. I can confirm that it is very precise and your movement in games is smooth. There is no deadzone and stick reacts to slight movements which is not always desirable but ultimately it&#8217;s better to set a software deadzone rather than have a hardware one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_analysis.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-391\" title=\"T16000M on Foxy's Analyser\" alt=\"graph\" src=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_analysis-300x234.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_analysis-300x234.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_analysis-1024x801.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/t16000m_analysis.jpg 1275w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Other axes didn&#8217;t get the same treatment and have &#8220;standard&#8221; sensitivity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"mwm-aal-item\" name=\"wearing-off\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Wearing off<\/h2>\n<p>For the record: I was playing with joystick from time to time, not everyday.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning the stick was very stiff and it&#8217;s usage was a test of endurance. After time the spring got loose and now it&#8217;s much easier. The problem is that joystick wiggles and that makes it unusable in the center (see on the graph that stray in the middle). It also becomes harder to bring stick to the neutral position and make the light go away.<\/p>\n<p>At first I was worried that slider would get too lose with time but that&#8217;s not the case. Sure, it&#8217;s lighten than before but it&#8217;s still reliable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"mwm-aal-item\" name=\"software\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Software<\/h2>\n<p>Device is supported by a program called T.A.R.G.E.T. downloadable from the <a title=\"Thrustmaster Technical Support - T.16000M PC Software\" href=\"http:\/\/ts.thrustmaster.com\/eng\/index.php?pg=view_files&amp;gid=1&amp;fid=3&amp;pid=285&amp;cid=5\">Technical Support<\/a> webpage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/targetgui_main.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-360\" title=\"TARGET GUI - main screen\" alt=\"main\" src=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/targetgui_main-300x200.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/targetgui_main-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/targetgui_main-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/targetgui_main.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It features extensive configuration options. I never got into that as there was no need.<\/p>\n<p>TARGET GUI seems to be slow. In my case it takes 17 seconds from starting the program to having a configuration loaded. It&#8217;s inconvenient to launch program (GUI or Script Editor) every time you want to play.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of my own settings:<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Standard<\/h5>\n<p>Applies deadzone to all axes. Slider has a larger one &#8211; useful when flying with helicopter in ARMA. <a href=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Standard.fcf\">Download<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Functional Keys<\/h5>\n<p>Buttons are mapped to F13-F24. I use it sometimes for programming \/ testing. <a href=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Functional%20keys.fcf\">Download<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Digital<\/h5>\n<p>Very sensitive axis input. An experiment to check if analog joy can be used as a digital one. In practice it&#8217;s not comfortable, better use buttons. <a href=\"http:\/\/ofp-faguss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Digital\">Download<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Mouse<\/h5>\n<p>Proxy for a mouse. Buttons simulate mouse buttons and a few keyboard keys. Cursor position is absolute.
