2026,07,18,13,46-JavaScriptWith the release of Arma: Cold War Assault Remastered Fwatch is now considered obsolete.
Fwatch is an old 32-bit design that's not compatible with the new 64-bit version of the game. Additionally, my version of Fwatch relies heavily on memory operations which in practice means that it's not worth the time and effort to port it. On top of that, game source code has been made public so any functionality could now be directly implemented into the game engine without relying on inefficient hacks (such as Fwatch). Check out OFP Discord Server if you're interested in the new engine.
Anything that uses Fwatch can now be considered obsolete as well because in the new game engine they would have to be redesigned. For example, my In-Game Script Editor operates on single lines because of the limitations of the original game interface. Potential new script editors could function just like any standard text editor software (Notepad++, Vim etc.), i.e. much more comfortably. Therefore, it wouldn't make sense to directly port Fwatch commands and scripts that use them. Starting from scratch is a much better option.
As for me, I'll finish some old projects for the legacy version of the game and move on to new ventures.
